Notification Guide
Discord Notification Guide
1. Open up AMNotify on Discord and bring your attention to the top left of your Discord screen. Here you will see an arrow pointing down (if on a computer) or 3 dots (if on mobile). Next, you will want to click on the arrow / 3 dots.

2. Select Notification Settings:

3. A pop-up will appear. The first option offers the ability to Mute the entire server. You should NEVER have this enabled.
4. The second option is to select which messages you receive notifications for your options include all messages, @ only, or none at all. Also below those are a few other options like suppress @ everyone and @ here, suppress role @s, and to allow or disable mobile push notifications. We recommend the following configuration for the AMNotify server:

5. Set Notification Overrides. Scroll down within the same pop-up to access Notification Overrides. This enables the user to set custom notification settings for specific channels and/or categories. For example, notification overrides allow you to have #general or similar channels with frequent messages muted, while enabling important channels such as #live-drop-info deliver notifications. Created configurations will have priority over the notification settings you setup in Step 4.
6. To add a channel to your notification override, simply click on the dropdown, or type out your desired channel name. There you will be prompted with a list of all available channels, select the one you wish to receive notifications for.
For example, to add the important category, search for important in the search bar. Then select the category as shown below.

It is important to understand the difference between a category and a channel.
A category refers to a collection of channels, while a channel is a single section dedicated to a specific topic within a category. Categories will typically host multiple channels at once. In the example below, "IMPORTANT" refers to the category, while the 8 selections below are the channels belonging to the IMPORTANT category.
While setting your notification overrides, you can tell if the item is a category and which one is a channel by referring to the icon located next to its name.
7. Once you have selected a specific channel and/or category, you may decide if you want to receive all messages, @ only or no messages for that channel. This is very useful for Important Restocks, Monitor Pings, and additional Important Categories!
All - this will enable notifications for all messages posted in that category/channel.
Mentions - this will only give you a notification when someone pings a particular role. For example, if you pick the Shopify role, then when a staff member pings the @shopify role, you will be notified for that particular channel.
Nothing - this will disable all notifications in the channel. This isn't recommended for any important channels.
We HIGHLY Recommend looking through the following categories and setting overrides for important monitors / channels. You should have notifications ENABLED for EVERYTHING in the following categories below:
Important
Sneakers
Flips
Card
Deals | Freebies
Trading | Stocks
The rest you can mainly adjust based on preference.
8. You can always view, edit, and remove any of your Override channels at the bottom notification screen.
If you find yourself overwhelmed by the amount of notifications you're getting from a particular category, then you can change the notification override from ALL to MENTIONS or NOTHING. If you want notifications from only one or some channels in a category, then you can disable notifications from the entire category and enable it for a specific channel only.
Feel free to adjust notifications how you see fit based on your needs.
