Account Reinstatement

Introduction

The following guide is the exact method I’ve been using to reinstate my Amazon accounts following account holds. Please note this method will not provide results that are 100% successful. Amazon reinstatement is a very difficult process that the company doesn’t shed much light on, so any guide might work better for one user and not much for another. If you don’t have success with this method you should also take into consideration how your accounts are made. IP address, phone number used for verification, age of accounts, and rate of accounts created with similar information play an important part in making everything work correctly.

What is a reinstated account?

Amazon reinstated accounts are accounts in which have been verified by Amazon employees to continue to use the credit card information that has been flagged in their system. Reinstated accounts must be completed yourself, purchasing someone’s reinstated accounts is completely useless as the second you change any billing information it essentially becomes recognized as a brand new account. In order to reinstate an account you first need to get Amazon to place the account on hold. This can normally be achieved by having a brand new account purchase an expensive product, or by purchasing an inexpensive product repeatedly using a bot. These methods usually flag the account in which Amazon will then lock it and require reinstatement forms answered when you next login.

Billing Information

Amazon account information is an important part of being able to prove you own the credit card used on the account. Billing and shipping information must not be over-jigged as the information must be a close match to the actual billing address you currently have on the credit card submitted. First and last name on the account should be the exact first and last name you have on your billing statement and credit card. You may make slight variations of the two, though it should be recognizable when compared to your real information. Easy variations to include would be adding your middle name ex: John R. Smith \ John Richard-Smith \ Richard-Smith John Street addresses may be slightly jigged, though Amazon uses an address verification system that may auto correct information to ensure they will be able to find and deliver your packages. Easy variations to include would be street abbreviations ex: Street, St, Streets \ Road, Rd, Roads \ Circle Cir Circles as well as adding your address number in the address 2 box.

Credit Card Information

Hard cards are recommended for this process as we will be submitting pictures of our credit card along with the billing statement of the credit card account. You may attempt to use physical AMEX employee cards for this process, though remember that the billing statement must match the last four digits of the credit card number on the card. Whether or not you attempt to edit the billing statement is up to you, though remember these are inspected by real employees that look through hundreds of billing statements a day. If you do decide to edit this information I recommend using a PDF editor such as Adobe Acrobat DC or matching the font closely in Photoshop.

Other Miscellaneous Information

Accounts with emails containing the first and last name of your billing profile tend to make the process a bit easier. This can be achieved by using a catchall and entering your first and/or last name. Again, that these reinstatement appeals are viewed by real employees, so accounts with emails signed up with complete gibberish will be recognized easier as bot generated. The phone number on your account’s billing information does not need to be legitimate. If your billing statement for whatever reason displays a phone number associated with your account you will want to match the same number for your Amazon account. You will need to submit the same phone number you entered in the account on the reinstatement submission, so please keep a copy of all your details for each account to match this information exactly. As of today, there does not seem to be a limit on how many accounts you make with the same credit card and billing/shipping information. I have many accounts reinstated by using the exact same billing address, credit card, and reinstatement information submitted, though it’s a good idea to change some information as much as possible to stay clear of any reinstatements that have a small chance of occurring in the future.

Reinstatement Process

Once you receive the email that your account has been put on hold, complete the following:

  1. Sign into your Amazon account using the same IP address you used when created.

  2. In the billing information field, enter the exact billing information you used when setting up your Amazon account.

  3. Sign into the bank you use that contains the credit card you submitted on the account.

  4. Download any bank statement associated with the credit card.

  5. Take a picture of your physical card and cover everything but the last four digits of the card number and ensure that your full name is also displayed.

  6. Click the “Billing Statement” checkbox and upload both documents (credit card image, billing statement) to the submission form.

  7. In the text box provided at the bottom of the page it doesn’t hurt to add additional information to make yourself look as legit as possible. For the purpose of keeping everyone’s submissions as unique as possible I won’t be providing any examples on what to say, use your imagination on how a regular person would feel if their account was locked.

  8. For the most part, you will receive another email from Amazon stating that they require additional information due to them being unable to verify the information submitted. This is normal, submit the same exact same files you previously did.

  9. Wait for a response (usually 12-24 hours).

Known Failed Responses

“After a review of your details, we have determined it is necessary to close your Amazon.com account. Any pending orders have been canceled.”

Extremely common message given with no clear explanation as to why. From my experience, I have no problem submitting the exact same information previously entered on another account and see success.

“We have closed your Amazon.com account and canceled all of your open orders. Any new accounts you open will be closed. We took these actions because you have submitted invalid credit cards as payment for Amazon.com orders.”

This seems to appear if you placed any orders on the account that were in progress and were later cancelled due to your account failing the reinstatement process.

Reinstatement Success

Hopefully after a few attempts of this process your accounts will become reinstated, you will know your accounts have been reinstated when you receive an email confirmation. It’s very important that you enter the same credit card previously used on the account in your 1-click settings as they normally remove the card information once the account is unlocked. Keeping track of the account information is also a good idea as accounts may become locked again in the future, though the reinstatement approval rate is easier.

Conclusion & Notes

This is a process that will take a lot of time and effort, you may have no luck getting any account reinstated one day and suddenly unlock many at once with the same information. This is all about being persistent and taking notice of what sticks the most. This guide is great at being the base of possibly finding success, but you will need to work on the information you submit to get around their suspicions. Once you find something that works, keep notes of every detail on the account and try the same technique. If you’ve been getting many failed responses all the time try taking a break for a few days and then try again later as Amazon may catch on to your information due to how often you submit it.

When submitting similar or the same credit card information, switch up the billing statement used (try a different month) and credit card image (change the image size, color of paint covering the numbers, submitting front and back details, etc.) as it’s not recommended to submit the same information many times in the same day.

Try using as many different physical cards you have access to, and if possible, the billing address each card is linked to. I’ve noticed that although I submit many different cards they catch the same billing address and deny me. Using a credit card with other billing addresses will lead to more success, especially if you’re submitting many reinstatement forms in a day.

Amazon could be catching on to account generation as it’s easy to track when the account was made. Try to make your accounts look as legit as possible by enrolling into smile.amazon.com, activating a free prime trial, browsing the site for a few minutes, and if you can, leave the account idle for a few days without making any purchases. These are not confirmed methods of improving your reinstatement success, but no one truly knows what they look for in these accounts. If you attempt to make yourself look like an everyday user as much as possible they will be more likely to quickly approve your reinstatement request.
