Why is Modifying Name Necessary?
Randomizing your name is generally a good idea in case a store decides to check for a full name match.
In most cases, stores are not very strict on the name itself. Often it's enough to get away with using a random first name and your real last name. However, for stores that filter this, such as Nike and smaller Shopify stores, it is advised to randomize both first and last name if possible.
Methods to Generate Random Names
There are many ways to generate a list of random names. This includes methods such as using a profile generator tool like AYCD, or websites such as the one below.
There are two methods to doing this in AYCD.
Creating Profiles
The first method is straight forward. You can simply create a new profile in the Profile Converter section by clicking File -> New in the top left corner.
You'll want to first set billing and shipping address to match.
You can enter any name as shown below.
Select the name checkbox as shown to be jigged.
Select whether you want both the first and last name to be jigged, or only one or the other.
Click save on the bottom right.
The second option is likely the more faster way of doing this. This will require you to have an existing profile already created in AYCD.
First, select the profile you want to edit. Then, in the top left, click Edit ->Mass Edit/Jig -> Selected. This will bring up the following as shown below.
Set shipping and billing address to match so you don't need to repeat it for both columns.
It's recommended to set the name on card and billing address to match.
Under the billing column, you can enter the following commands to generate randomized first and last names respectively - %fname% %lname%
You can finalize the profile by hitting save.
If you don't have access to AYCD or prefer to do it manually, you can use the links above to manually generate first and last names.
Using the above links, simply select the quantity of first names you would like to generate as shown below. Then click the rerun button to generate the requested quantity of first names.
Once you’ve selected the quantity you need, you can simply copy and paste the names into a Google Sheets or Excel File by highlighting the names and copying and pasting them into the spreadsheet to store those names.
If you also want to generate random last names, you can use the same website linked at the top of this page to do so, and follow the above steps to generate the desired amount.
