Introduction to Captchas

What are Captchas?

CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart) is a form of bot protection that a website can use to protect itself against spam and abuse. A CAPTCHA test can be implemented on a website to decide whether you are a human or a likely bot.

reCAPTCHA is Google’s implementation of captcha that you commonly see implemented on the vast majority of websites using this form of bot protection. For these types of captchas, they will require strong Gmails in order to have best results when botting, or to use third party services that are able to solve them.

hCAPTCHA is a separate captcha service that has become more popular over the years. This service doesn't require any Gmails, and many bots often have solvers for them already built into the bot that can automatically handle them for you.
