Burner Discord

A Discord account that is not the main Discord account someone uses. It is a separate Discord account with different username, email, etc. A burner Discord will typically only contain Discord access to a specific bot, and is helpful when selling bots as it will give the buyer full control over the bot, especially if it requires Discord access. The email and password can be changed at any time as well.

The downside of a burner is that it will be on a separate Discord account that cannot be merged with your primary Discord account. If you want to access the burner Discord, you will have to manually log on to it to check notifications.

Fresh Discord

This type of Discord invite has not been used on any Discord account and you are able to use that invite on any Discord account you want. You can add it to your personal Discord, or even on a burner as mentioned previously.

Email Access

Email access means that you are able to manually log onto the email account. For example, if buying a bot that includes email access, you should be receiving the login information for the gmail, yahoo, etc., associated with that key.

Email access is often needed for bots that are managed through some type of web dashboard that requires a separate login email and password, since whoever has access to the email can reset the password and login again. Most of the bots covered in this guide do not require email access. Check with each bot individually to see if it is required.

Note that there is a difference between purchase email name and email access. Some bots only require the purchase email name, and having access to the actual email is meaningless. For example, if the bot was purchased using the name “aba123@gmail.comenvelope,” then those bots will only need you to input aba123@gmail.comenvelope wherever needed, and access to the gmail aba123@gmail.comenvelope will not do anything or matter in any way. These bots specifically are covered in this guide.

Unbinding

Unbinding typically means that access to the key management can be transferred to someone else. License management is often handled through Discord Accounts, and can only be tied to one Discord account at a time. Unbinding in this scenario would remove your tie between the Discord account and the bot’s license management, and you will then be able to transfer this to someone else.

Knowing if you can unbind a key is helpful when it’s time to buy or sell a bot. If you cannot unbind that key, it’s helpful to put it on a Burner Discord that you can transfer to a buyer later on. This is helpful when trying to retain maximum value of the bot, as selling without access to Discord will hurt the value of the bot significantly and the buyer won’t usually have full ownership of the bot without it.

Don’t leave keys that others have had access to before unbound to a discord. This can result in a previous user of the key claiming the key and bind it to their discord. Always leave the key bound to a discord except during a transaction for it.

Key Resets

Bots can typically only be activated on one computer at a time. A reset is needed in order for you to use that bot on a different computer. Since bots will often be ran on servers, this is very important when moving from one server to another. Depending on the bot, keys can be reset in different ways. Key resets are often handled through Discord, some type of web dashboard, or in the bot itself (a manual deactivate/reset key button or simply closing the instance of the bot). Check the guide for how to reset each key individually.

Note that often Discord Access will be required for most bots to reset, which is why it’s important to have access to it if needed.

Reselling Allowed

When reselling is stated as allowed, it does not officially mean that the bot devs will support you in every way when reselling. It simply means you are allowed to resell without the risk of getting key banned if caught reselling. If you get scammed while selling or buying a bot, then bot devs are not obligated in any way to assist you in that transaction. In many cases, bot devs may only get involved if they are partnered with BotBroker and the issue occurred through buying/selling on that platform.

Renewal Options

Lifetime

Lifetime typically means that the bot has no renewal fees of any kind. This means you can use the bot for the lifetime of the keys existence. A few bots limit access to the bot for lifetime options, such as certain stores not being supported. Check the guide for which bots have this type of functionality.

Renewal

Renewal means that the bot will continue to receive updates and/or be useable during that period it was activated for. For example, most bots operate on a 6 month renewal system, meaning that you’ll continue to receive updates and use the bot during those 6 months. Once those 6 months expire, the key will need to have some type of renewal fee paid in order to keep using.

While lifetime seems nice, it is often not the most cost effective option, especially when paying resale for a key. Resale on lifetime options can be a few hundred dollars more than buying a renewal key, and would take you at least 2-3 years to see the difference. You never know when a bot dev can stop working on the bot, the bot just stop working entirely, etc., and because it would take so long to see the difference, it is often not the best choice.

Renting

Renting out a bot means you as the owner of the bot are giving someone temporary access to the activation of your key on their own computer. During this rental period, the owner will not have access to the bot and only the person renting will be able to use the bot. Renting out bots can be an additional source of income, especially if you aren’t using the bot during a period of time or for a drop.
